Hobby Center Health and Safety Protocols

The health and safety of all subscribers, ticket holders, staff, artists and all those who make up the Hobby Center Foundation's community is our top priority. Please rest assured, all decisions regarding the necessary protocols and policies for the health and safety of our audiences will be guided by medical and public health advice. We are implementing changes to meet the rapidly changing conditions, guidance and recommended best practices. As conditions change, so may protocols and guidelines.

Beginning October 1, 2021, all patrons ages 2 and older will be required to show either proof of a negative COVID-19 test result or proof of vaccination, and photo identification. Patrons ages 18 and older must bring a photo ID that matches the name on the proof. Guests younger than age 18 without ID must be accompanied by an adult with proper identification.

Patrons must bring a printed copy of the negative COVID-19 test results which matches the patron’s photo I.D. Test results must meet the following criteria:

  • Both PCR tests and antigen tests are acceptable. The results must have been performed by a third party, such as a lab. At-home tests will not be accepted
  • A PCR test must be taken within 72 hours prior to attending the event. For example, if your event is on a Friday, the date of your test should be between Tuesday and Friday
  • Patrons who choose to take a rapid antigen test must obtain results within 6 hours of arrival. The results must have been performed by a third party, such as a lab. At-home tests will not be accepted

Patrons who are fully vaccinated against COVID-19 (at least 14 days after final dose of Pfizer, Moderna, or Johnson & Johnson) may bring proof of vaccination as a substitute for a negative COVID test result.

  • The final vaccination date must be 14 days or more, prior to performance date
  • Either the original vaccination card, a printed copy of the vaccination card, or a digital copy of the card, and a photo I.D. must be presented on arrival

The Hobby Center is joining performing arts groups nationwide in an earnest effort to keep the industry alive while navigating the challenging conditions imposed by COVID-19.

Below are the additional protocols as of September 1, 2021, which may evolve as we approach the reopening of the Hobby Center. As health and safety protocols are refined, we will provide updates and specifics to patrons prior to our first public event.

What pandemic-related changes can you expect at The Hobby Center?

  • Any ticket holder who does not comply with any pandemic-related health protocol may be required to leave the theater, and their ticket will not be refunded
  • Beginning October 1, all guests 2 and older will be required to present a negative COVID-19 test (see testing requirements above) or proof of full vaccination.
  • All patrons must wear a mask, regardless of vaccination status, while inside the building and are required to provide their own mask. If patrons cannot wear a mask, they cannot enter the building
  • Staff and volunteers will be required to be fully vaccinated and wear masks at all times
  • Staff will sanitize ticket scanners prior to performances and periodically through their shifts and will no longer physically handle tickets
  • All high-touch points will be sanitized and cleaned frequently
  • All other touch points are to be disinfected at least once per day. This includes, but is not limited to, the box office area, bathrooms and seating areas, which will be sanitized prior to each performance
  • Additional hand-sanitizing stations have been placed throughout the facility
  • Guests should expect a cash-free operation in Diana American Grill and at most concession locations. Also, no food or beverage will be allowed to enter the audience chamber
  •

  •

COVID-19 related protocols established by the Hobby Center or its affiliates may be in effect at the time of performance, including, without limitation, temperature checks, testing, confirmation of prior travel to restricted areas, and/or confirmation of no known symptoms of and exposure to COVID-19. We reserve the right to unilaterally establish or modify health protocols according to updated public health guidance and applicable law. Any applicable update or modification to such protocols will be provided to ticket holders prior to a performance.
