Ticketing Policies


The Hobby Center strives to recognize, value and foster relationship between arts and the greater community. In keeping with this mission, the Hobby Center is proud to offer world class performing arts programming completely FREE of charge to Houston area students.

We further support this theatergoing experience by providing integrated curriculum guides and offering transportation reimbursement. To provide fair and equitable access to this programming, we have implemented the following ticketing policies. Please make sure you read all the policies completely.

Discovery Series Ticketing Policies
  • Reservations are required for all Discovery Series performances. Please submit the online form to book your reservations.
  • In order to make the series available to as many students as possible, we ask that you limit your request to 150 tickets per performance. You are welcome to request as many performances as you like.
  • Everyone entering the theater must have a ticket, including all teachers and chaperones. The theater does not allow children under the age of 3 (including sleeping babies) into the theater. Chaperones will be asked to remain in the lobby with any underage children for the duration of the performance. A video monitor is located in the lobby so that you may watch the performance.
  • Discovery Series performances are not public performances. All tickets (including accompanying parents) must be arranged through the School/Daycare/Home School. Individual tickets are not available for these performances. Please do not ask a parent to call the theater for tickets.
  • Submission of an online booking form is NOT a guarantee of your order. A representative from the Hobby Center will contact you to confirm your order within five (5) business days. A contract will be emailed to your school for your review and signature. Signed contracts should be returned to the Hobby Center within ten (10) business days to confirm your reservation. Reservations are not secure unless a signed contract is on file with the Hobby Center.
  • Students, chaperones and parents that attend the performance are the responsibility of the school. Any problems that may arise will be addressed to the school representative only. It will be up to the school representative to resolve any challenges with their own students and chaperones.
  • Cancellation Policy – If a school is a no call/no show for their assigned performance, they may not be allowed to participate in the following year’s Discovery Series programming.
